That mission led him to Los Angeles Trial Lawyers’ Charities (LATLC) — an organization committed to serving the most underserved members of our city. What started as a partnership quickly became a purpose.

After joining LATLC in 2013, Mr. Marcus didn’t just participate — he took the reins, earning his place on the Honorary Board of Governors, the Board of Directors, and ultimately, being elected President in 2019.

Under his leadership, LATLC became more than a charitable organization — it became a force for good:

• Over 106 charity partnerships formed

• Nearly $4.7 million raised for grants, scholarships, and community programs

• More than 2,000 volunteer hours donated — a 450-hour increase over the previous year

• $170,000 in scholarships awarded to 57 college-bound high school seniors

• $147,000 in funding granted to 115 youth sports programs

• Dozens of major community events launched, including the powerful Day of Dignity, The Great Tryke Giveaway, and Holiday Comfort & Joy Giveaway

This is not symbolic charity. This is boots-on-the-ground, results-driven action that’s directly changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of Angelenos.

The LATLC focuses on causes that matter — education, children, survivors of abuse, individuals with disabilities, and those experiencing homelessness. These are the people society too often forgets. But under Gerald Marcus’s leadership, they are seen, supported, and given a real shot at a better life.
